Patient Reviews This alone is worth patronizing Zen Dental. He must have spent a small fortune on that chair, I know because I have the first version of it which was cost prohibitive back in 2001 and it's not nearly as amazing as the one they have. So go relax and enjoy all your Dental needs at Zen. Maybe I'll run into you there. For the first couple of decades...or so...of my life, I certainly didn't. But now, I actually do for 3 reasons:1. Dr. Jay's assistant is amazing. She is friendly and helpful on the phone, even going as far as remembering who you are, your profession, and working around your work schedule (without you ever asking!) to set up a convenient time for you to go in. It's odd - it's almost like she recognizes your voice immediately, deceptively causing you to believe you are only one of few patients of this office, but in fact, due to my visual examination of the filing cabinets, you are only one in perhaps hundreds. Now I'm convinced she has a photographic memory. 2. Dr. Jay is smart. His credentials could perhaps speak to that, but I think we've all had our share of bad dentists, who seemed like they were just experimenting with our teeth, causing unnecessary pain on some occasions and overlooking true problems on others. Dr. Jay is competent, identifies the issues (if they are any) and works quickly to fix 'em. Easy, simple, because he's smart. 3. They're located in the California Market Center, aka LA Fashion Market, where a sample sale of the most popular clothing lines take place once a month. I won't tell you when...because that's *my* appointment time, ladies. ~ Kasie L, Los Angeles, Ca I no longer dread going to the Dentist. Seriously, Dr. Jay and his staff are absolutely amazing. Everyone at Zen makes it such a pleasurable experience. I've had a couple of cleanings, cavities filled and a root canal. None of which were painful. Bring your I-pod, I phone, I touch or whatever you have that plays music - They have some great headphones you can use. Combine that with some laughing gas and just zone out during the procedure. If you are in downtown or anywhere driving distance to downtown La., you have to go to Zen dental. Seriously, do it. If you're on a tight schedule, like I always am, you'll also appreciate that you will get in at your appointment time. I highly recommend Zen Dental.

I went back today for a cleaning and to get some new invisalign trays and they added an entire room just for relaxing. They have a new massage chair, candles, a humidifier; what kind of dentist's office is this??? They had me chill in that chair for 15 minutes before my appointment and when I actually went in for my cleaning, I was totally relaxed. I went in for the name your own price cleaning special since it was too hard to pass up and I was very happy with the service I got. Jay was very nice, knowledgeable and so was the receptionist and dental assistant. They are very high tech too, showing me with a mini camera and video monitor the problem areas in my teeth so I could literally see what Dr. Jay was seeing.I have a few cavities I need to go back to get fixed and feel like the quote they gave me to fix my cavities was very reasonable-less than I was expecting. I've been in for scheduled appointments and emergency visits, and each time they handle my mouth with care. Everyone who works there, from the front desk, to the assistant and of course Dr. K are all very personable and kind. Not only is their location tremendously convenient (it’s in the building where I work), but the atmosphere they have arranged from lobby to treatment makes the whole experience of dental care wonderful! I felt like the attention I received from Janet the receptionist, as well as Karla the Dental Assistant were remarkable! Dr. Jay uses nothing but state of the art equipment, so my cleaning and exam were a walk in the park, compared to some of my past experiences. And, to top it off, I don't have dental insurance, and paid for my services out-of-pocket. Zen Dental's pricing is certainly reasonable, especially given the amazing service you receive in their care. I even found the cash to pick up an electric Oral B brush - which, I might add, costs double at Target, than I paid at Zen Dental!Not only will I return for all my dental care needs, but plan to refer my friends and colleagues! I was walking around without a filling because my last dentist told me the only way to fix my tooth was a super-expensive crown, and without dental insurance I couldn't afford it. Dr. Jay drilled it, filled it, and made my teeth look BEAUTIFUL for a price that I could afford to pay out of pocket.And - I don't think I've ever said this about a dentist before - it didn't hurt. AT ALL. I didn't take any painkillers; he just numbed the area really well and waited for the Novocain to take effect. I hate listening to the drill, so he gave me headphones and a huge CD selection to choose from to take my mind off what was happening.
